The Dursey Island Cable Car
The Dursey Island Cable car is one of the great tourist attractions on the west coast of Ireland and draws many visitors to our shores every year. It is a truly wonderful experience, even for those who don't like heights!
The Cable Car's first run came in 1969. The idea came from the ingenuity of a farmer on a nearby headland, Crow Head, who used a pulley system to transport sheep over to a nearby island, which could not be accessed by foot, to graze.
It can hold 6 adults and is in operation year round.
